There’s no such thing as a “free” alarm system, those companies are scamming you
Sure, you get an alarm system without paying a large initial cost, but they will make you pay nonetheless. The first thing they will do is lure you in with equipment that they tell you is free, but is only added into your monthly fees. Then you’ll sign a contract, locking you into the deal for at least a year or two. Then, your introductory monthly fee expires, and you are left with a ridiculously high fee that continues even long after the hardware is paid off. The worst part is since there is a contract involved, leaving early will generally involve a stiff early-cancellation fee, and in some cases, you may need to return the alarm equipment as well.
